I'm very proud of how well the students performed today at Latke Lunch.  If you were unable to come today, or if you just can't get Moves Like Judah out of your head.  I've posted it below.  It will also be posted on the CJA website under Holiday celebrations.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to remind you about a few things happening at school for the next two weeks

  • Thursday Dec 15 - normal uniform day
    • 6:00-6:30pm = students do not need to be in uniform.  If they'd like to wear old fashoned clothing for our Yiddish Weeks presentation, go for it.
  • Friday Dec 16 - formal uniform day - Yiddish Presentations for grandparents and families  in the gym
  • Monday Dec 19 - non-uniform day (In school snow day) - students are encouraged to wear touques, mitts and scarves in class all day.  Hot chocolate will be given out by Student Council.
  • Tuesday Dec 20 - Latke Lunch - Formal Uniform Day
    • 4:00-6:00 - City Hall Candle Lighting (Formal Uniform) - students will be given a small snack before performing
  • Wednesday Dec 21 - Formal Uniform Day
  • Thursday Dec 22 - Formal Uniform Day
  • Friday Dec 23 - Formal Uniform Day
I hope that helps to clarify things.

Yiddish Weeks has continued into this week.  We have been listening to Chelm stories each day.  Students have enjoyed acting out Chelmite solutions to problems in groups.  Don't forget that Thursday evening we are having our parent sharing night about the things we have learned during the past two weeks.

Shabbat Shalom,
We have had a beautiful Yiddish filled week.
Can't wait to see what next week holds.

Thank goodness for people who share links on Facebook.  The Maccabeats have just today done a remake of Mattisyahu's Miracle.  Enjoy

I apologize for not blogging in a whole week.  I haven't been feeling 100% and actually was home sick yesterday.  I'm happy to say that I'm feeling much better.
Yiddish Weeks began on Monday and things have been going fantastically, if I may say so myself.  I'm totally biased, but grade 2 has the best assignment of any grade during these two weeks.  Our main focus is the stories of the "wise" people of Chelm.  Ask your child what they know about the Chemlites.
Also, I know parents have been inquiring about the details of the Candle Lighting Ceremony happening at City Hall in two weeks, so I'm posting the poster that was e-mailed out with the CJA newsletter today for more information.
